Exploring the parallels of human life and nature

Meet the Artist

Born and raised in Orange County, California, Grace Hart is a multimedia artist concentrating in Ceramics. Starting with the love for drawing and painting at a young age, Grace expanded their horizons of mediums when being introduced to ceramics in high school. To continue their artistic expansion, they attended California State University, Fullerton, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Ceramics in 2025.

Through their exploration in art, Grace primarily focused on combining clay body with found organic materials such as feathers, shells, rocks, sea glass, with the usage of found textiles like lace and doilies. By using these materials with clay, they explored the parallels between human life and nature.

Grace presented these parallels through their exhibit Everlasting Change at California State University, Fullerton, in the Spring of 2025. Everlasting Change explored the idea that change is the only constant in life, whether it be growth or loss. Throughout their school years, Grace explored this idea of everlasting change by seeking out imagery where change occurs the most - the point where the ocean and land meet. The beach directly symbolizes active change, eroding its surroundings yet revealing new life. The exhibit showcases hand-built sculptures and thrown pieces along with drawings, textile art, and blown glass.
